Reporting to the respective Technical Managers of Lighting, Staging and Sound, you will be responsible for all technical and production aspects of live events within our centre and for putting in place practices that are comparable to the best practices of major arts centres in the world.

Together, you will lead the crew in providing technical support, maintaining high quality facilities and ensuring that events are run by an efficient backstage technical team. As we embark intensively this year on new training initiatives, you will also assist your respective technical managers in driving these initiatives.

The candidate must have indepth and up-to-date knowledge in the respective technical areas of either lighting, staging and sound within the live entertainment industry, ideally at an international level.

You should possess at least 10 years' experience in technical theatre (either in lighting, staging or sound respectively) at a managerial / leadership level in a performing arts centre or producing company working in similar venues.

Fluency in English, along with strong interpersonal skills, is essential. Experience in the professional development of theatre production and technical personnel will be an asset as you will be involved in training technical crew.

You must be able to relocate and commence work in Singapore within the 3rd quarter of 2008.

Walton Arts Center venues include a 1201-seat auditorium with proscenium stage, a 200-seat variable stage black box theater and a 200-seat multi-purpose space. The ideal candidate will have strong interest in being part of a growing, dynamic organization with effective team-leadership skills.

Duties include overseeing production and coordination of all technical aspects of venue; hiring, training and scheduling of full time crew; technical equipment purchases and maintenance; budget development; analyzing and negotiating technical requirements for professional touring companies and assisting clients with technical design and execution.
