Transitioning USITT for the
21st Century
Starting in October 2006, the leadership of USITT began the process of an organizational assessment and evaluation to determine how USITT should position itself in moving toward the organization's 50th birthday and beyond. President Sylvia Hillyard Pannell created a 21st Century Task Force led by William J. Byrnes to spearhead this effort.
The assessment was conducted by McCarthy Arts Consulting (MAC) who met with a wide variety of constitute groups, affiliated organizations, and stakeholders. More than 1,000 individuals participated in the evaluation process.
In late June 2008, USITT's 21st Century Task Force received the final assessment report from MAC. The Executive Summary of that document, in PDF format is here. To download the complete 55-page report, in PDF format, click here.
We thank the 21st Century Task Force members including Mr. Byrnes, Lea Asbell-Swanger, Carol Carrigan, Travis DeCastro, Larry Hill, Carl Lefko, Sylvia Hillyard Pannell, and Tom Young for their service, which has concluded with the delivery of the final report.
To continue moving the process forward, a Transition Team, led by Lea Asbell-Swanger, has been formed. The team have been charged with bringing a comprehensive reorganizational proposal to the USITT Board of Directors meeting in October 2008.
USITT's leadership is sincerely interested in receiving input on the assessment report, as well as the 21st Century Task Force's final report which is available in PDF format here.
