USITT's Directory & Lists of Distinguished Members

The USITT membership includes more than 3,600 designers of scenery, costume, sound, and lighting; scenery, costume, sound, and lighting technicians; properties, makeup, and special effects craftspersons; stagehands; architects; theatrical consultants; acousticians; performing arts educators and staff; and performing arts manufacturers, supplies and distributors throughout the Unites States, Canada, and 40 other countries. The pages about joining and supporting USITT contain a detailed discussion of membership categories for individuals and organizations. This page is dedicated to some categories containing distinguished members, including Fellows of the Institute, Honorary Lifetime Members, Sustaining Members, and Contributing Members.

All members are included in the Membership Directory & Resource Guide that is published each fall, and distributed by surface mail to the USITT membership. It contains full contact information for all members as well as the history and structure of the Institute. An online directory of the membership is being developed; meanwhile the USITT website contains a Contact Sheet that provides contact information for USITT members who hold elected office, represent a commission, Regional Section, Student Chapter, or belong to a committee.

Fellows of the Institute: The honorary designation of Fellow of the Institute is bestowed for life upon those members who have made a truly outstanding contribution to the entertainment industry and the work of the Institute.

Honorary Lifetime Members: This small but very distinguished group of individuals have been recognized for providing "a lifetime of continuous service to the Institute."

Sustaining Members: These members help USITT maintain its activities by providing increased financial support. This category of membership is open to commercial businesses, firms, establishments, individuals, and non-profit organizations interested in supporting the mission of the Institute.

Contributing Members: These members support USITT and its activities at the highest membership level. The category is open to commercial businesses, firms, establishments, individuals, and non-profit organizations interested in providing a greater level of support to the Institute's mission.
