COVID-19 Information

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BEGIN THE REGISTRATION PROCESS

On Nov. 11, 2021, the USITT Board of Directors established the following policy for attendance at the 2022 Annual Conference & Stage Expo:

  • Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19; or
  • If you are unvaccinated (or not fully vaccinated), a negative COVID-19 test within 3 days of the event; or
  • If you recently recovered from COVID-19, you may instead show documentation of recovery from COVID-19 and a negative COVID-19 test three days before the event.

The USITT health policy for USITT22 is based on the CDC requirements for entering the country, which were updated on Nov. 8, 2021. For our international guests, the CDC has provided a helpful quick reference sheet, which you are encouraged to download. Please also read our definition of "fully vaccinated."

For those concerned about types of tests, we follow the CDC recommendations. Please read carefully: You must be tested with a viral test to look for current infection – these include an antigen test or a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT). Most tests referred to as "home tests" or "self tests" meet this requirement as do tests generally referred to as PCR tests.

Health and vaccination status checks will be required of all attendees prior to doors opening for the Conference & Stage Expo. Details will be sent prior to the event.

Please be assured that USITT is working to help safeguard the health and safety of all of our members and guests who attend USITT22 in Baltimore. Because this event is taking place during a declared global pandemic, we are working closely with the Baltimore Convention Center, the Baltimore City Department of Health, and the State of Maryland, whose continually updated mandates and other guidance concerning COVID-19 may impact our Annual Conference & Stage Expo. Additionally, USITT is continuing to monitor the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The City of Baltimore has issued an indoor mask mandate for all persons regardless of vaccination status. Expect to be required by law to wear a mask at all times during the 2022 Annual Conference & Stage Expo and at any indoor public gathering in the City of Baltimore unless otherwise notified.

Effective Tuesday, March 1, 2022, the City of Baltimore no longer requires face covering indoors. Attendees are strongly encouraged to wear a mask throughout the Conference & Stage Expo for your safety and for the safety of others.

You must follow all USITT and Baltimore Convention Center policies, including health and safety policies, and posted instructions while in the complex and on convention center grounds. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and those with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. No precaution can completely eliminate the risk of exposure to COVID-19. By entering the Baltimore Convention Center to attend USITT22, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure of COVID-19.

Based on current contract tracing advice from health authorities, if you test positive for COVID-19 up to 14 days after attending the Annual Conference & Stage Expo, you agree that you will contact USITT.

These policies may change at any time as CDC guidelines and local requirements for gatherings are being refined and adjusted to best protect against COVID-19. By continuing with the registration process, you acknowledge this and understand that if the compulsory submission of proof of vaccination status, proof of negative test results, mask wearing, and/or other health and safety protocols which may become compulsory for attendees change, and you choose not to comply, you will not be admitted to the Baltimore Convention Center and you will not be entitled to a refund in full or in part for any monies paid to USITT.

I UNDERSTAND. TAKE ME TO REGISTRATION.
