The Theatre and Dance Department of Indiana University South Bend is seeking an Assistant Professor of Theatre, Lighting and Sound Design to begin August 1, 2025.
The Department, housed in the vibrant Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts a part of the College of Arts and Sciences, is a professionally engaged community of theatre makers with the goal of helping each of our students find and evolve their most trained, flexible, creative, and unique artist within while preparing them for further study in graduate school and/or work in the professional theatre world. The Department offers a BA in Theatre and BFA programs in Musical Theatre Performance and Design & Technical Production.
Faculty Responsibility Summary:
Teaching courses within specialty (lighting and sound design/technology) as well as campus and department-serving courses.
Designing and implementing lighting and sound for all department productions.
Engaging in continued professional research and/or creative work.
Engaging in service activities, including participation in faculty governance and department recruitment efforts.

Required Basic Qualifications
MFA in Theatre in Design or closely related field.
Excellent communication skills.
General computer skills and proficiency in Vectorworks, Q Lab, and other specialty-specific applications.
Proficiency working with a range of traditional, LED and moving lighting instruments, light boards, sound boards and sound systems.
