Summary

Southern Oregon University's School of Arts & Communication seeks a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Theatre: Lighting, Sound, and Projections. Responsibilities include teaching theatre technology courses at all levels, academic advising, curriculum development, and participation in the university's production season. Candidates with professional theatre production experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Faculty are expected to contribute to program administration, departmental committees, and student recruitment. They should maintain active creative and scholarly work through professional engagement, publishing, and conferences.

SOU Theatre is a BFA-only program serving 200 students. Located in Ashland, Oregon, the surrounding area is known for cultural offerings such as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the Ashland International Film Festival, and the Britt Music Festival. The region is noted for its unparalleled biodiversity and the university lies in close proximity to the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument.
