What We Are Looking For

The Department of Theatre Arts seeks an audio/video professional to join our design and technology team. The Audio Video Supervisor supports all departmental production needs, including mainstage, course needs, and space rentals. The position would oversee the setup, operation, organization, and maintenance of all audio and video equipment. The position supervises student workers, training them in audio/video setup and operation. The ideal candidate will have a large range of experience overseeing technical aspects of sound and video for live performance. The potential exists for design or mentorship opportunities depending on experience and interest. We are a close-knit community and value self-motivation, a positive attitude, good humor, and courtesy.

A Bachelor's Degree with one year of relevant experience and an active Christian faith are required. A Master's Degree and three years of relevant work experience are preferred. Experience and education may be considered in lieu of one another.

All applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

• 30% Mainstage Production Setup Utilizing Student Crew

• Lead student crew of varying skills in setup/strike of productions.
• Train student crew in functional knowledge of audio and video technologies.
• Track student hours worked relative to available work-study funds.

• 25% Organization and Maintenance of AV Equipment

• Efficiently organize all AV equipment and accessories.
• Keep AV equipment in working order, facilitating third-party repair processes as needed.

• 20% Departmental AV Support

• Attend tech rehearsals to manage/teach student audio or video operators.
• Work with department colleagues through consultation and implementation of audio and video solutions for class and rehearsal needs.
• Assist with software install/maintenance in lab and performance spaces.

• 15% Booked-in Events and Evening Rehearsal Support

• Run, or facilitate student operation of, booked-in events.
• Be on call for any weekend maintenance needs
• Support of evening rehearsal needs are shared between AV Supervisor, Sound Design professor, and student crews, depending on the nature of the production.

• 10% Consultation and Procurement of AV Equipment

• Consult with Sound Design professor on equipment needs and budget considerations.
• Facilitate procurement of equipment.
• Track and maintain AV budget.
• Lead and/or coordinate large-scale upgrade projects.

• Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.
• Ability to comply with University policies.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
