Today it has grown to include Members at all levels of their careers and has embraced the new technologies being used in entertainment. Our mission is to connect performing arts design and technology communities to ensure a vibrant dialog among practitioners, educators, and students.

About the position USITT is seeking to grow our Engagement Team with a detail-oriented person to assist in growing our website and published content to enhance the engagement of our Members.

Primary Responsibilities Include

● Researching and tagging curated stories for posting on our website, assisting in creating, editing, and scheduling of The Current (weekly e-publication), creating short form video, and assisting in creating, editing, and scheduling of various marketing emails and press releases in Mailchimp or other email system.

● Assist Engagement Team in continually updating content, webpages, and additions to the USITT website and writing articles for the website as necessary. In addition, assist in developing and contributing content for Annual Conference-related activities (website, Conference materials, social media content, short-form video, sponsorship materials, etc) as needed.

● Assist in locating, posting, cross-posting content across social media as directed and developing original content for posting.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

● Basic experience in webpage creation (WordPress, Wix, etc) , content calendars (Airtable, ClickUp, etc), and graphic design (Canva, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc) is necessary.

● Knowledge of, or the ability to learn the basics of the theatrical and live entertainment design and technology industry to better understand our Members’ needs is a must.

● Strong attention to detail, a positive outlook, and a proven ability to develop a rapport with colleagues is essential as is the ability to work under pressure and on multiple projects with overlapping tight deadlines with accuracy.

Location and Work Hours

The position is remote, however you may elect to work from USITT’s National Office in Liverpool, NY. Remote employees will work 40 hours per week in synchrony with the set schedule of the National Office (Eastern Time), regardless of actual location. There will be occasional travel to include your on-boarding office visit and to cover various USITT and USITT-related events throughout the year. Your participation as onsite staff at the USITT Annual Conference & Stage Expo, held for one week in March or April at locations throughout the U.S. is required. This required assignment will include work in excess of 40 hours for that week. Travel and housing will be provided.

This position works primarily with the Engagement Team, Sales & Events Team, and Education & Training Team. Occasionally this position will work with outside stakeholders such as contractors and the Board of Directors.


Compensation and Benefits: The hiring salary range for this position is $40,000 - $42,000 annually. Compensation also includes the USITT benefits package which includes paid vacation, sick leave and holidays, and employer contributions to medical, dental and retirement plans.
