Costume Studio Manager
Bucknell University seeks our next Costume Studio Manager. This position is a full-time, non-exempt, benefits-eligible position, working 40 hrs/wk, 39 wks/yr. The Costume Studio Manager is responsible for oversight, supply management and maintenance of the costume studio and costume stocks and oversight of student workers. This individual will also take part in pre-production planning as pertains to costumes including meetings, rehearsals and fittings. In addition to managerial duties, this position is expected to support the costume build of the department’s artistic season through sewing, shopping and pulling costumes. Reporting to the faculty costume designer, this position requires flexible work hours on some nights/weekends, depending on the production calendar and needs of each show in the artistic season.
Primary Duties:
Studio and Student Employee Oversight:
· Responsible for the oversight, supply management and maintenance of the costume studio and costume stocks.
· Provides oversight of costume studio student workers during the regular academic year.
Costume Production:
· Supporting the Department of Theatre and Dance by producing costumes. This includes but is not limited to: draping, pattern-making, cutting, sewing, crafting, and performing alterations.
Pre-Production Planning:
· Participates in pre-production planning process as it pertains to costumes which includes meetings, rehearsals, fittings, and dress rehearsals as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
· B.A. in Theatre/related field OR 4 years experience in the field, plus one additional year of relevant experience
· 1 year +Management experience
· Understanding of theatre and the costume design field
· Proficient in patterning, cutting, and sewing
· Proficient in Google Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
· MFA in Costume Technology/Production
· Professional costume production experience beyond stitcher
· Management experience within an academic setting
· Advanced skills in patterning, cutting, sewing, and/or crafting

· Ability to frequently communicate with groups of people in open areas
· Ability to assist in observing and judging garment finish from the theatre seats
· Ability to frequently operate costume machinery
· Ability to work in a stationary position for 50% of the time or more.
· Ability to occasionally ascends and descends stairs/work ladders
· Ability to occasionally work outside to load or unload costume elements to/from vehicles
· Ability to transport 20 pounds of costumes
Salary Range:
$21.17-26.46/hr.
The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
