Summary

The Department of Performing Arts at Rider University seeks a full-time Lecturer in Stage Management beginning in Fall 2025. The successful candidate will Production Stage Manage (PSM) two Rider mainstage productions each semester and teach two courses a semester including Stage Management as well as other courses which align with the candidate’s skills and experience. Beyond teaching & PSM duties, requisite value/service activities will include student Stage Management mentorship, academic advising, support in advancing recruitment efforts, and of ongoing promotion & curriculum development for Theatre: Design/Tech and Theatre-Making programs.

Requirements

Required:

1) MFA or MA in Stage Management, Production Management or other within the Theatre Arts as appropriate OR BFA or BA and commensurate professional experience greater than 5 years.
2) Demonstrated knowledge of AEA rules and regulations
3) At least 3 years of demonstrated professional experience in stage management.
4) Excellent communication and organizational skills.
5) Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required.

Preferred:

1) At least 3 years of teaching experience at the college level
2) Experience in Production Stage Managing and/or Stage Managing in multiple physical settings, for regional and/or commercial theatre.
3) Professional network connections with Philadelphia and New York theatres.
4) Ability to read sheet music.
