Summary

The Department of Theater & Performance Studies (TPS) at Occidental College seeks a highly collaborative Resident Assistant Professor of Costume Design, beginning August 16, 2025. This role requires an MFA in Costume Design/Technology or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities include designing or supervising costumes for three mainstage productions annually, teaching 2-3 courses in costume design, construction, stage makeup, and period styles. The successful candidate will train students in costume production, manage costume shop operations, maintain costume equipment, and oversee materials within production budgets. Additional responsibilities include mentoring student designers, serving on senior project committees, and participating in department events and faculty meetings.
