Summary

This is a full-time position working closely with the sales team to provide rigging related estimations. Estimators are responsible from the beginning of a project, leading the process of project estimation, system design and budgeting of public bid, design build, and Turn-Key projects. A successful candidate will be a motivated individual who is interested in providing best-in-class customer service and has the technical skills to complete tasks on time and accurately.

Reports to: Director of Project Delivery

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate estimates and all related documentation required to make sound pricing estimates and quotes for all VLS rigging inquiries in a timely manner.

• Work with the sales staff to provide all requested and required project pricing information.

• Assist sales team with identifying and qualifying a job before starting a workup.

• Participate and attend weekly project department and sales meetings and be prepared to answer costing related questions and project pricing status.

• Maintain a positive relationship with vendors, contractors, partners, representatives, specifiers, and other project stakeholders.

• This position requires some travel for the purpose of site visits and project estimating data collection. Mileage and applicable expenses will be reimbursed by VLS for these trips.

• Maintain proposed project database and files.

• Work closely with the Project Managers and Field Installation teams to answer any installation questions related to the bidding and costing of the project.

• Assist in the design and pricing of rigging related solutions for Design Build projects and rigging repairs.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications and Education:

· Degree in technical theatre, a related field, or commensurate experience in theatrical rigging.

· ETCP Rigging certification is preferred (or will need to be attained while in VLS employ)

· Must have good communication skills (both written and verbal).

· Must have good organizational skills, mathematical aptitude, being prompt and accurate in providing estimates for all rigging project opportunities.

· Working knowledge of both motorized and manual theatrical rigging systems, pipe grids, curtain tracks, curtain systems equipment and theatrical rigging vendors is required.

· Experience putting estimates and quotes together including product pricing and labor costing is required.

· Must be familiar with ANSI, ESTA, and OSHA regulations related to rigging systems inspection, maintenance, and installation.

· Must have excellent customer service skills (both written and verbal).

· Must be able to pass local, state, school, and federal background checks, as required by project.

· Must be able to pass 5-panel drug screen
