At Heartland Scenic Studio we turn ideas into reality. Our people make this happen through dedication and commitment every day. As the Rigging Superintendent you will work with HSS Project Managers and IATSE crews to inspect, fix and install equipment in schools and theatres.
Education
o Required: BA in Theatre, emphasis technical. Experience may substitute for a degree
Licensing/Certifications
o Required: OSHA 30 (upon hire)
o Required: Driver’s License, Reliable transportation, Current insurance
o Required: ability to obtain One Source (upon hire)
o Preferred: ETCP certified
o Preferred: ETC certified
Experience
o 3 years of theatre rigging experience; educational experience will be considered
o 2 years of personnel management
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
o Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
o Skilled management of work crew; prefer experience with IATSE labor
o Knowledge of stage rigging equipment and operations
o Knowledge of construction process
o Knowledge of construction site safety regulations
o Able to communicate effectively: written, speaking, phone
o Able to lift/push/pull 50 pounds; up to 90 pounds with help
Working Conditions
o M-F - 8am-5pm for shop time
o M-F – start and end time may flex based on job site requirements
o Overtime expected when on site
o Work in a construction environment – 80%
o Work in a shop/warehouse environment – 20%
o Frequent overnight travel required
