Paid Internships at Production Resource Group are educational work experiences for individuals who wish to explore a career with PRG and/or develop hands-on knowledge and skill in the business of entertainment technology. PRG provides structured yet flexible programs where interns rotate through the various functions of a particular discipline, giving them a comprehensive overview of the different aspects of the field.
The internship program is 12 weeks. The Summer Program runs approximately *Mid to late May- Beg/Mid-August (*dates may vary)
Each Junior Project Manager intern will:
Get hands-on experience in the technical aspects and business aspects of our business. Specifically with Concert Touring and Live TV.
This position will have a strong focus on the Business aspects of project management/budget.
Shadow PRG staff and perform actual work in every area of your discipline.
The intern will interact with several departments to gain a broad understanding of Entertainment Production from the Production Supplier (PRG) perspective.
Learn Project Manager process from Bid to execution for the Music group.
Learn the budgeting process and how to track project budgets.
Learn the pre-production, production, and wrap/delivery process at PRG
Reports to a VP of Production and works closely with Project Managers and Sales Coordinators
Will actively assist the VP of production in troubleshooting issues with projects and the financial impact.
This will be an immersive learning experience in management of projects with a focus on how to track financial performance.
Qualifications
May perform other incidental tasks, as needed.
All applicants must be eligible to work in the country where the internship is located.
For internships in the US, students must pass a drug test prior to employment.
Must have an interest in working in the entertainment industry
Experience / Knowledge of theatrical or entertainment production
Working technical knowledge of live entertainment
Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word, must have ability to adapt to changing software applications
Organizational and time management skills
Ability to identify and communicate creative solutions to challenges
Ability to pay close attention to details
Ability to lead with a positive attitude and encourage collaboration
Ability to manage time and balance priorities amid the pressures of busy, deadline-driven production
We are looking for applicants who match ANY of the following:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or higher-level degree program in theatre or entertainment
Technology specializing in any of our disciplines or a complementary field (ie. technical direction, stage management)
Have received an appropriate degree within the past two years
Have appropriate background in the entertainment technology industry
Physical demands
Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
