Technical Director

Binghamton University is searching for a Technical Director who manages all aspects of the Theatre
Department’s scene shop(s) for the production program. The position works with the creative and technical
faculty and staff to bring scenic and visual production effects to the stage. They are responsible for having
technical drawings created for the scene shop, determining production expenses of projects, overseeing the
scenic and props show budgets, coordinating with the production calendar as related to shop and onstage
production activities, purchasing materials, supervising the building, installation, and removal of scenery in day--
to-day operations of the shop, overseeing the work of the scenic and props crews, establishing and enforcing
safety rules and maintaining the shop’s equipment and supplies.
