The next installment of the ASTC-USITT Venue Renovation Challenge will occur during our Annual Conference & Stage Expo in St. Louis, March 15-18, 2023. The event is held in odd-numbered years, and will follow a successful, virtual presentation in 2021.

This is an excellent opportunity for university students to team with an ASTC mentor to learn more about the work and influence of a Theatre Consultant on performing arts spaces. This is a theoretical project, where students design a renovation or remodel of an existing venue. Projects are submitted electronically then presented in a live setting during USITT.

There are two cash prizes, the Edgar L. Lustig Honor Award, and the Director’s Award.
