Celestion has introduced the CF1230BMB 12-inch (305 mm) diameter ferrite magnet, cast aluminum chassis professional audio loudspeaker.
More details from Celestion (www.celestion.com):
The CF1230BMB is well suited to both bass and mid-bass applications. The new CF1230BMB is engineered for a longer throw than conventional mid-bass speakers, and thus produces more low-end when loaded into conventional two-way enclosures. The new driver also excels as a bass unit in compact subwoofer applications.
The Celestion CF1230BMB features a 3” (75 mm) copper-clad aluminium voice coil providing 700W continuous power rating and 96 dB sensitivity with an output frequency range of 50Hz to 3,000Hz. The elastomer surround enables a longer Xmax compared to a conventional 12” mid-bass speaker, additionally allowing the CF1230BMB to better reproduce lower frequencies. This makes the driver a natural solution for discreet, compact subwoofer applications. As the driver also performs very smoothly up to 3kHz, the CF1230BMB is also a superb option for 2-way designs with the extra advantage of exceptional low frequency performance.
As well as extended low frequency performance, The CF1230BMB features Celestion’s smart airflow vented magnet assembly for dynamic heat dispersion to minimise power compression during operation and a modified T-pole magnet assembly to enhance performance through improved Bl symmetry, hence lower distortion.
Developed at Celestion’s headquarters in Ipswich, England, this loudspeaker has been designed using specialist in-house software deploying FEA (Finite Element Analysis) modelling techniques, enabling the Celestion engineering team rapidly to achieve genuine increases in performance, that translate into greater product longevity, and exceptionally low distortion.
This new high-performance cast aluminium loudspeaker is another example of Celestion’s continuing commitment to delivering a wide range of high-quality solutions for sound reinforcement and professional audio applications.
