The Long Reach Long Riders are adapting this years’ ride to meet the challenging conditions necessitated by COVID-19. Toward that end the LRLR have postponed their full group ride till 2021 and are replacing it with a Relay Ride in which small groups ride for 2 – 3 days carrying a kazoo shaped baton (what else?!) The oversized kazoo-baton will be passed from one group to the next at dedicated locations across the country.
The ride, which will begin at Half Moon Bay, California and end in Lubec, Maine, has been dubbed “Just Breathe” A Celebration of the Life of Cris “Brooklyn” Dopher. Cris, a founding member of the LRLR, passed away last year.
Ride organizer Greg Williams noted, “We feel it’s only fitting to honor Cris by making this year’s ride a celebration of his remarkable life and by adopting his mantra as he dealt with the many challenges he faced in his life – Just Breathe”.
Ride dates are tentatively set for mid-late June. Please click here for details on joining the ride and making a donation.
