Midwest Educational Technical Theatre Symposium

USITT's Midwest Section is hosting a technical theatre symposium for k-12 teachers who are interested in learning about technical theatre. The event will take place July 26, 27, and 28 at the McHale Performing Arts Center in Logansport, Indiana. Workshops cover topics such as rigging, set construction, projections, EoS training, and theatre safety/technical theatre pedagogy.
Registration for the event opens April 9, and will close on July 19. Attendees who register before June 27 will qualify for Early Bird pricing.
Early Bird Registration is $150 for non-members, and $100 for Midwest Section Members
The registration fee includes lunch each day. Hotel accommodations are not included with the registration fee and will need to be booked directly with the hotel. A block of Hotel rooms with Home2 Suites is reserved for the event. Mention METTS when you make your reservation to get a room for $140 per night plus tax. Transportation and other meals are not provided.
The Daily Schedule is still being determined, but workshop titles include:
- Counterweight Rigging: Procedures, Terminology and Terminations
- Eos Level 1 Console Training
- Theatre Safety and Management
- Getting Started with Video Projection
- Common Scenic Construction Techniques
