NOW ONSALE: Outreach Trainers Seminar for the Entertainment and Live Events Industry
October 2, 2023
Are you (or do you know) an OSHA Outreach Trainer looking to branch out into teaching live event workers? Event Safety Alliance is pleased to announce its inaugural Outreach Trainers Seminar for the Entertainment and Live Events Industry, taking place November 6, 2023, in Houston, Texas. This first-of-its-kind workshop will introduce current and prospective OSHA Outreach Trainers to the unique characteristics of the live event environment and workforce, providing them with the foundational expertise to develop training programs that address industry-specific concerns.
“Interest in event-focused OSHA outreach training currently outpaces the supply of available instructors possessing the requisite industry knowledge,” stated ESA Director of Operations Jacob Worek. “By providing current trainers from outside the event industry with the necessary understanding and instructional framework to address our industry’s challenges, ESA hopes to create expanded training options for our workforce and new professional opportunities for existing OSHA Outreach Trainers.”
Key topics covered in the seminar include:
- Environments and Workflows Overview: Theaters, Festivals, and Arenas
- Safety Considerations in the Live Event Environment
- Effective Strategies for Training Event Workers
- Tools and Resources for Training
- Designing Classes That Comply with OSHA Regulations
Full program overview is available here.
By the end of this seminar, attendees will be able to analyze their learners’ requirements and design an OSHA 10 or 30-hour class that will satisfy the Federal OSHA requirements for issuing completion cards while being focused on some segment of the live event industry. Participating instructors will also have the opportunity to be included in ESA’s training resource database, to be launched in early 2024.
Participation fee for this workshop is $50, which includes lunch and beverages. This seminar will qualify for .8 CEU’s for those requiring continuing education units.
