Paige Washington
USITT is excited to announce Paige Washington as our inaugural Satter PMMP! The Carolyn Satter Production Management Mentorship Program (Satter PMMP), generously funded by Immediate Past President and Fellow, Carolyn A. Satter, supports an individual who has begun their professional career as a production manager in live entertainment by providing them the chance to manage events and connect with a production manager mentor at our Annual Conference & Stage Expo.
"I'm thrilled to have Paige as our inaugural Satter PMMP and for them to bring their passion, knowledge, and experience to this training opportunity," said Executive Director Laura Lee Everett. "There are so few chances for working artists in our industry to expand their experience skills and work in other parts of live events, so it is a real honor to start this program, especially with such a vibrant and exciting person pioneering the role with us in Columbus."
While at USITT25 in Columbus, Paige will be part of our exclusive Conference Event Production Team, acting as an integral lead in producing our energizing Main Stage and Expo Stage events throughout Conference. Paige will work directly with the Event Producer, Artistic Director, and Technical Producer.
"I am thrilled to continue to learn and grow through the Carolyn Satter PMMP and take my skills and knowledge to the next level," Paige said. "I have already learned much from the planning process and cannot wait to see the result of my hard work in Columbus!"
Paige will be guided by a well-established production manager, assisting them through each event and becoming a fixture in their career growth, lending their advice, skills, and knowledge to them for a year post-Conference and beyond.
"I spent more than 40 years in the world of theatrical production, finding it filled with both triumphs and challenges," said Carolyn Satter. "Reflecting on my time in this vibrant industry, I can honestly say that while some days dragged on in a fog of monotony, only a precious few left me wondering if I’d made the right choice. The role of a production manager is not just a job; it’s a fire that burns deep within, a passion I want to pass on to the next generation.
I truly believe that this Mentoring Program is a beacon, a transformative experience for those fortunate enough to be chosen. It’s not merely about learning the technical aspects of Production Management—this program is a chance to ignite a fierce dedication and unquenchable passion for the craft. Together, we will explore the infinite potentials that lie within this extraordinary profession and stoke the flames of ambition and creativity that drive us all!"
