The Midwest Educational Technical Theatre Symposium (METTS) is seeking proposals for its 2025 session, July 25-27, 2025, at Millikin University in Decatur, IL. METTS is a weekend of training sessions for K-12 educators, both certified and staff, who work with students in a technical theatre capacity. This event is specifically targeted to support and improve the skills of those training the next generation of technical theatre professionals. Last year nearly 40 participants were in attendance and METTS is expecting to double that number this year as the momentum continues to build!
Last Years Sessions included:
- Counterweight Rigging
- Common Scenic Construction Techniques
- Theatre Safety and Management
- Eos Level 1
- Getting Started with Video Projection
Do you have a session idea you would like to teach at the Midwest Educational Technical Theatre Symposium? If so, click here!
Please fill out the form for each session you want to propose. An overall structure for sessions has not been settled so feel free to propose your ideal session length and structure. The more information provided, the better. METTS may decide to combine sessions/presenters. Sessions should be focused on training and not the sale of specific products/services.
The form should be filled out by the lead presenter if multiple trainers/presenters will be taking part.
Presenters will be provided accommodations and meals upon acceptance of their proposals. Presenters traveling to Millikin will be reimbursed $0.70 per mile.
