Our Members work all across the globe in thousands of different venues. We've all seen the good, the bad, and the downright derelict theatres the world has to offer us. But here at USITT, we want to point our Members toward the best venues around the globe to call their professional home!

For the last 25 years, USITT has celebrated high-quality venues around the world, and the architects behind them. It takes a special blend of artistry, engineering, and practicality to fashion the ideal live entertainment venue, and our past winners have had all three in spades. Apply today to join their ranks!

Design practitioners worldwide may enter one or more projects, as long as construction was completed AFTER January 1st, 2014. Venues will be reviewed by a jury made up of members of the USITT Architecture Commission. 

All submissions will be scored on a scale of 1-10 using the following criteria:

• Creative image
• Contextual resonance
• Community contribution
• Performance venue design
• Explorations in new theater and acoustic technologies
• Functional operations of front-of-house and back-of-house spaces
• Sustainable design as part of the overall building

Once entries have been reviewed, awards will be presented at our Annual Conference & Stage Expo in Columbus, OH, March 5-8, 2025. Winners receive recognition and complimentary registration to the 2025 Conference. Past award winners have come from England, Germany, Japan, California, New York, and all points between!
