Catch a Show in Houston's Theater District

The theater district is a short (and cheap!) light rail ride away from the George R. Brown Convention Center. Downtown’s premier theater venues, Alley Theatre, Jones Hall and Wortham Theater Center, all sit within a block from one another with the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts located close by. Popular entertainment destinations Bayou Place, AMC Houston 8 and family-favorite Downtown Aquarium are also located within just a few blocks of the major theatres and many dining destinations abound leaving you confident you won’t miss the curtain call.

Grab a Bite in EADO

If you want to dine like a local, The East of Downtown District (EADO) has what you're searching for. EADO is full of quality eats and a large offering of breweries. Try a myriad of beer flights, relax at one of EADO'S many outdoor spaces for a night of appetizers and drinks, or visit the famous graffiti walls blanketed in colorful artwork that span an entire block. Sign up for a Professional Development Workshop

Extend your stay in Houston to take part in one or many of our Professional Development Workshops (PDWs). PDWs offer opportunities for in-depth learning on a range of topics from projection mapping, puppetry, and costume design, to console training, OSHA safety, and local tours. Take a trip to NASA

The Johnson Space Center, home of NASA, is a quick 30-minute trip away from all the USITT 2020 action at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Johnson Space Center is NASA's center for human spaceflight, where human spaceflight training, research, and flight control are conducted. Arrive early or stay a bit longer in Houston to explore the famed NASA grounds and experience something out of this world.
